In this review, I put the Renogy Inverter P2 2000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter to the test in my off-road trailer setup. I discuss the inverter's compact size and reliable performance when running small appliances like a space heater and fan simultaneously.
Design and Switch Panel
I've got mine kind of buried. It looks like it's tight in there, but there's a lot of room. I'm using it primarily to convert power from my probolt batteries to be able to use some small appliances in an off-road trailer.
This switch panel comes with the Renogy Inverter P2 2000W Pure Sine. I decided to put it here. I really didn't want to run an additional wire into my Off-road trailer, so I just mount it here for convenience so I don't have to reach down where the inverter is installed to be able to turn it on and off. I can just do this right here. It's a nice feature to have.
- Relatively compact design fits well in tight spaces
- Conveniently mounted switch panel eliminates need to reach inverter
Wiring and USB Port
The wire that's attached to the back of this switch is long. It's this great wire here. It looks like old school phone cord, but that's essentially what it is, and that just clicks right into this port on the side of the inverter.
There's also a powered USB port on the side of it that I'm using for a powered sensor unit that I wanted to have on full time as long as the inverter is on.
- Long attached wire simplifies installation
- Always-on USB port convenient for charging devices
Simultaneous Appliance Performance
I've run a small space heater and a small fan simultaneously inside my trailer, and it's performed great. That's about the max I've used it.
Otherwise I'd have been plugging in mobile phone chargers and a laptop to be able to charge off that inverter from my batteries. It's been great.
- Successfully powers space heater and fan at the same time
- Reliable performance for charging small devices
